Our Story

'' I have always felt more joy in giving than in receiving. ''

The story of Association BENARI began long before its official creation.

In 2017, in Benin, its founder began personally helping vulnerable children. She visited orphanages, traveled through various neighborhoods, and sought to identify children and families genuinely in need of support.

She was confronted with harsh realities: children going hungry, families living without water or electricity, and children sometimes forced to beg just to eat.

In those moments, she realized that a gesture that seems small can have immense value. A simple biscuit bought for 25 CFA francs ( 0.06$ CA) could bring a little happiness to a child.

When she arrived in Quebec, her commitment did not stop. Even while studying, she continued to support children and families in Benin, while also helping, whenever her means allowed, vulnerable individuals and families in Quebec.

In 2022, she decided to stop acting alone. She mobilized her friends and acquaintances and organized a first collection. Since then, initiatives have multiplied, helping more children and families, particularly in 2023 and 2024.

In 2025, an important milestone was reached with the organization of a large celebration for nearly 40 orphaned children: food, gifts, games, and above all, smiles. Around 1 500 000 CFA francs were also raised to support solidarity actions.

In 2026, after several years of commitment, this dedication officially took the form of Association BENARI.

Today, BENARI aims to transform these individual gestures into collective and sustainable action, in Quebec, in Benin, and more broadly in Africa, around five main pillars: protection, education, nutrition, health, and community development.

A small gesture can change a live, but when we unite our forces, we can change lives.

Association BENARI — Together, let us sow hope.

Who We Are?

The BENARI Association was born from a deep conviction: every child deserves to grow up in dignity, with a future outlook, regardless of their origin or situation.

Our Mission

We work to contribute to the well-being, protection, and development of vulnerable  children. Through our initiatives, we aim to provide them with support, promote their access to education, and help meet some of their essential needs.

Our action is structured around three main pillars:

Support and Guidance

Providing a caring presence, support, and a reassuring environment for children living in vulnerable situations.

Education and Development

Promoting access to education, educational resources, and learning opportunities that contribute to their personal growth and the construction of their future.

Solidarity and Community Engagement

Creating bridges of solidarity and mutual aid between individuals, communities, and partners in Canada and Africa to contribute to concrete initiatives for children.

Our Vision

We aspire to contribute to a world where every child can grow up in a favorable environment, access essential resources, and look forward to their future with confidence and hope.

Together, let's sow hope" is not just a slogan. It is an invitation to join forces to help build a supportive community where every child can thrive and believe in their future.
